Wingard's Market began with a simple love of plants. In the late 1960s, Margie and Judson Wingard started propagating azaleas in their yard, soon finding themselves with more than they could keep. A hand-painted sign reading “Azaleas For Sale 50¢” marked the beginning of what would become a Lexington tradition.
By the time Judson retired in 1983, the family's small roadside stand had become a trusted local nursery. Over the decades, the Wingards and their children expanded and modernized the business, transforming it into a full-service garden center rooted in family, faith, and community—providing quality plants and products suited for the heart of South Carolina's Zone 8A climate.
