Sargent's Chinese Juniper
Juniperus chinensis var. sargentiiSargent’s Juniper is a durable evergreen shrub valued for its dense, spreading growth and deep green foliage. Forming a low, wide mat, it provides excellent groundcover and year-round color in challenging landscape conditions. Its sturdy branches hug the ground, making it especially effective for stabilizing soil on slopes, banks, and dunes. In colder months, the foliage may develop subtle bronze or purplish tones, adding seasonal interest while maintaining coverage and structure.
Exceptionally hardy, Sargent’s Juniper thrives in full sun and is well adapted to harsh environments, including coastal areas with salt spray, strong winds, and poor soils. Once established, it requires minimal care and displays strong resistance to drought and cold. With its rugged nature and dependable performance, Sargent’s Juniper offers a long-lasting, low-maintenance solution for both residential and commercial landscapes.
