Sargent's Chinese Juniper

Sargent’s Juniper is a durable evergreen shrub valued for its dense, spreading growth and deep green foliage. Forming a low, wide mat, it provides excellent groundcover and year-round color in challenging landscape conditions. Its sturdy branches hug the ground, making it especially effective for stabilizing soil on slopes, banks, and dunes. Care Instructions

Planting:
Select a full sun location with plenty of space for spreading. Plant in spring or fall for best establishment.

Pruning is rarely required. Trim lightly in late winter or early spring to remove damaged or wayward branches.

Pest Control:
Generally pest-resistant. Watch for spider mites or scale insects and treat with horticultural oil if needed.

Soil Tips:
Prefers well-drained soil and tolerates sandy, rocky, and poor soils. Avoid consistently wet or compacted areas to prevent root rot.
